About the project
For Chinese DJ Carta, we created a new visual concept centered around the cicada: An insect associated with rebirth, transcendence, and immortality in Chinese folklore. Known for their distinctive wings and powerful, resonant sound, cicadas mirror the energy of Carta’s bass-heavy music.
This theme inspired a series of bright, punchy visuals with neon textures and a futuristic edge. The result reflects the intensity of Carta’s sound while incorporating subtle nods to his cultural heritage.
